Ahmed Aziz Zuberi
Director
Ahmad Aziz Zuberi is on the Board of Directors of the Business Recorder Group, a media and publication conglomerate founded over 55 years ago. The BR Group is one of Pakistan's largest media companies and among only a handful with assets in print and electronic media in the news and entertainment space. In addition to serving on the Boards of all three Group companies, he occupies management positions with various responsibilities.
Ahmad is the Managing Director of Recorder Televison Network, which broadcasts two 24-hour satellite TV channels; Aaj News and Aaj Entertainment. He helped launch the TV business in 2004 when he returned to Pakistan from the US.
He is also the Executive Director of the Daily Business Recorder, which is the only daily English financial paper in Pakistan. He is a third-generation family member in this business founded by his late grandfather, M. A. Zuberi in 1965.
Ahmad is the CEO of Apex Printry which is Pakistan's largest private security printing company. Apex is the leading supplier of bank cheques in the country. Prior to joining the family business, Ahmad worked in Investment Banking at Donaldson Lufkin and Jenrette in Los Angeles, and subsequently, at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York, advising Media & Telecom companies on Mergers & Acquisitions as well as Equity and Debt offerings.
He received his Bachelor's Degree from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania in 2001. He graduated with High Honors, with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Economics.
Ahmad is a member of the International Board of Directors of YPO. YPO is a US based global community of business leaders with 30,000 members from over 130 countries. He has previously served as the Chairman of YPO Middle East & North Africa. YPO MENA has chapters across the region from Pakistan to Morocco. He has also previously served as Chairman of the Board of the YPO Pakistan chapter.
Ahmad also serves on the Boards of Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy, Exim Bank of Pakistan, National Institutional Facilitation Technologies (Pakistan's national banking clearing house), and Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences. He is also a member of the Executive Board of the Pakistan Broadcasters Association.
